An archipelago of islands just off the coast of Panama known as the San Blas are home to the Guna Yala tribe people. Due to the ocean currents debris from hundreds of miles away washes up on the shore, contaminating the environment with no waste management system in place to help clear up the problem. Along with plastic pollution sweeping through like a plague, rising sea levels risk many natives to lose their homes, traditions and culture. Many of the tribe have already been rehomed in Panama due to this devastation.
